LeMay Electric, Inc. Receives 2013 IEC/CNA Safety Award

ATLANTA, GA. – The Independent Electrical Contractors, Inc. (IEC) Atlanta Chapter is pleased to announce that LeMay Electric, Inc. in Marietta, Georgia, received the 2013 IEC/CNA Safety Award (Category 2) during the 56th Annual IEC National Convention and Electric Expo in Portland, Oregon.

LeMay Electric, Inc. was recognized for its efforts to provide employees with a safe and healthful workplace. The company’s commitment to safety is evidenced by its promotion of safety committee participation, efforts to provide safety and health education and training, and reviewing and updating workplace safety rules.

LeMay Electric, Inc. has been in business for 30 years and has been an active member of IEC since 1987. They have incorporated a written safety program, required all supervisors to complete the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) 30-hour training, and required all personnel to complete OSHA 10-hour training, Aerial Lift Training, and more. In addition, LeMay Electric, Inc. has had an exceptional Experience Modification Rating for at least the last four years.

The IEC/CNA Safety Award is given to electrical and systems contractors who place safety as a high priority in their organization and have the results to prove it. The award is given in five categories: Category 1 – up to 15 employees; Category 2 – 16 to 50 employees; Category 3 – 51 to 125 employees; Category 4 – 126 to 300 employees; and Category 5 – more than 300 employees.

Known for its highly quality training programs, IEC provides electrical apprenticeship training, as well as, continuing education training across the state. Other services include legislative advocacy on the state and national levels, networking opportunities with industry professionals and other business support services to help independent electrical contractors be successful. IEC Atlanta provides services and support to the Atlanta-Metro area and is part of the National IEC, which has 60 chapters and nearly 3,000 members nationwide.
