2011 “The Extra Mile” Award Congratulations to James Wesley who was presented with “The Extra Mile” award at the 2011 IEC Apprentice Graduation this past June 17th, 2011.James is a second year IEC instructor who has gone the extra mile in his work with the IEC curriculum. James has worked on the development of the new IEC On-Line Apprenticeship program where Atlanta is viewed as the leader for internet based training. James spends many hours working with the IEC in Atlanta and has also participated in curriculum development with the IEC National in Phoenix, AZ earlier this year. 3 Apprentices Graduate in 2011 LeMay Electric is proud to graduate three more electrician apprentices to Journeyman status in 2011.Blake Barron, Jeff Elkins and Greg Hilyard have successfully completed the requirements of the Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training to advance to Journeyman Electrician status. All three of these men placed in very strong positions in their class. Jeff Elkins placed second in the apprentice of the Year competition and Greg Hilyard placed third. LeMay Electric, Inc. remains dedicated to investment in a quality work force as our trade is best learned through formal apprenticeship training. We are proud to be members of The Independent Electrical Contractors Association and to have a part in the advancement of these men to journeymen status in our trade. Atlanta, GA – On Friday, December 9, the IEC Atlanta Chapter held its 2010 Holiday Party and Awards Luncheon at their headquarters, 4500 Winters Chapel Rd., Atlanta, GA 30360. The award is given to an individual whom the President of the Board, Mark Good, feels that has exemplified high IEC standards and conduct, and assisted the President in his role at the IEC. President Good said that "Russell quietly listens to varying opinions in meetings, weighing the ideas presented, and then will eloquently express a position where no one feels their viewpoint has been ignored."
